Under My Skin

Under My Skin came about starting with the main acoustic guitar riff and then the lyrics a few days later. It's one of those slinky little guitar riffs that just seem to flow out or your hand and I quite like playing and singing it. This is also my first attempt at playing slide guitar and I used a nice old 66 Gibson J - 45 for this. It's a great contrast to the clean sound of my Morgan that I use for my finger style pieces. I hope you enjoy the tune : - )

Under My Skin Lyrics

Words and music by Daniel Halen

Drank all of my whiskey baby
Drank all of my gin
Drank all my beer and wine
Now I’m out of medicine
I’m out of medicine
Well I got’s to go see the doctor now
Can’t drink you out from under my skin

You told me you were leavin’ here like a thousand times before
I thought you were joking babe ‘till you walked right out that door
That night my sunshine left me, it’s been rainin’ now for weeks
My coffee’s cold, black like your heart, even honey don’t make it sweet
No, no, no, even honey don’t make it sweet
Well I got’s to go see the doctor now
Can’t drink you out from under my skin

Well I went to see the doctor, he said “ son you got it bad,
I’ve seen a lot of patients boy, you’re the worst I’ve ever had”
I ain’t got no voodoo remedy, no magic lonesome pill,
The cure lies way down in your soul, dig deep and find your will,
dig deep and find your will
Now listen to the doctor son
I said listen to the doctor now,
I said listen to the doctor son
Can’t drink her out from under your skin

No, no, no, no
